Each ChatGPT user has different needs. To personalize the responses the AI provides, as well as how it responds, the AI can be asked to act in a specific way. But for those who don’t like to repeat themselves, OpenAI already offers an interface that allows you to personalize artificial intelligence (accessible in ChatGPT’s customization options). This interface allows you, for example, to specify your field of activity, so that the AI takes this information into account when it responds to your prompts.
And now, ChatGPT’s customization interface also allows you to decide which traits the AI should have. This update has just been announced by OpenAI, in a publication on the social network X. “With the new user interface, you can tell ChatGPT what characteristics you want it to have, how you want it to speak to you, and what rules you want it to follow”indicates OpenAI.
And among the suggestions offered by ChatGPT on this new interface, there is “Chatty” (talkative, in English) or even “Generation Z”. You can also ask ChatGPT to become more skeptical, more poetic, etc. You can also ask the AI to be more professional, or to be more “chill”.
Limited availability, for the moment
Unfortunately, the feature doesn’t seem to be available everywhere, yet. First of all, to access this new interface, you will need to use the web version or the mobile application. But the update will arrive later on the ChatGPT mobile applications, as well as on the application for macOS.
“Coming soon to ChatGPT users in the EU, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Switzerland”also indicates OpenAI in its announcement. This suggests that this AI update is not available in the European Union, at the time of writing this article.
