The market for high-end robot vacuum cleaners has seen the arrival of a serious competitor. Eureka launches its J15 Pro Ultra at 899 euros, much cheaper than the competition’s high-end models. An aggressive positioning that is accompanied by impressive technical characteristics: suction power of 16,200 Pa, an advanced washing system, and a compact multifunction base.
Price and availability of the Eureka J15 Ultra Pro
The Eureka robot vacuum cleaner is currently available for 899 euros on Amazon. A nice surprise given its recommended retail price which is usually 1099 euros.
A successful design that hides great innovations
The J15 Pro Ultra sports a square design with rounded corners that allows it to reach corners more easily, without necessarily needing a retractable side brush. The robot measures 35.4 x 35.5 cm with a height of 11.7 cm, dimensions within the high average of the market. You will therefore have to be careful not to have furniture that is too low, otherwise the J15 will not be able to slide into it.
The manufacturing quality is there with premium materials and careful finishes. The matte black coating is rather aesthetic. At the rear we find a rotating mop capable of deploying to better clean the edgeslike what Roborock and Dreame are also doing.
The major innovation is hidden in the main brush: the FlexiRazor system incorporates blades that automatically cut hair when returning to base. An effective solution to prevent them from getting tangled in the central rotating brush.
A compact, but complete base
With its 39.5 x 45.8 x 46.8 cm, the charging station remains relatively compact despite its many features. It includes two water tanks of 4L and 3.4L as well as a 3L dust bag. The automatic mop cleaning system uses hot water up to 75°C before hot air drying at 55°C. However, we will regret the tendency of the Eureka J15 Ultra Pro to require emptying and refilling water far too often. In our case with a house of 100 m2, it was necessary to change the water after 3 cycles only yet using a low water level.
Innovation is also found in the base washing system. A three-arm rotating mechanism cleans mops efficiently. The only thing missing is the automatic distribution of detergent, which must be mixed here directly in the clean water tank.
Top suction and washing performance
With its 16,200 Pa, the J15 Pro Ultra shatters suction power records. In fact, this brute force results in particularly effective cleaning on all types of floors. The carpets are well dusted thanks to the automatic detection which increases the power and raises the mops.
Washing is not left out thanks to the two rotating mops which exert good constant pressure. The Scrub Extend system makes it possible to reach difficult areas while protecting the mechanism from shocks. The results are excellent even on dried stains.
Navigation is based on precise LiDAR coupled with an RGB camera. Obstacle detection works quite well and the mapping is faithful to reality. The autonomy is rather good with a 5200 mAh battery allowing you to cover 130 m² with a single charge.
A complete application that has been greatly improved
The Eureka application offers a modern and intuitive interface. Customization is extensive with three memorized maps, definition of floor types, virtual furniture placement and numerous cleaning parameters.
IntelliView artificial intelligence adapts the cleaning strategy according to the type of dirt detected. The robot even identifies wet marks to avoid spreading them. Obstacle recognition extends to more than 150 different objects.
Some features can still be improved, such as the average quality of video surveillance or some slowdowns in the interface. But regular updates and listening to user feedback suggest improvements, the French translation having already made a great leap forward.
Excellent value for money
By proposing performance at the level of the best at less than 900 euros, the J15 Pro Ultra becomes an excellent proposition on the market. Certain compromises such as the absence of automatic detergent dispensing or the somewhat tight tanks do not detract that much from the fact that it is very difficult to find such a good model at this price.
The manufacturing quality, cleaning efficiency and intelligent innovations make it a reference for those looking for a high-end robot vacuum cleaner without breaking the bank.
