Banking scams are exploding all over the world, and also in France. In some cases, scammers contact their target directly by calling them. They then pretend to be their bank advisor and try to recover their information or their money directly. Enough to cause great damage to the victims and real trauma.
The ultimate weapon against scams?
Revolut is offering a new feature that should make it possible to effectively fight against these scams. Concretely, the fintech has been testing and developing calls integrated into the application for several months now. This tool is an additional layer of security that malicious actors will never be able to replicate.
Clearly, it will be possible to communicate with Revolut customer service via a call made directly from the application. The British company also informs its individual customers that the vast majority of its customer service calls will now be made via this process. She also specifies that these in-app calls will soon be offered to professional customers of Revolut Business.
The neobank finally wants to encourage its users to continue using chat to contact its customer service in a simple and secure manner.
Woody Malouf, Head of the Fight against Financial Crime at Revolut, is full of praise for this new system:
We offer our customers innovative solutions to quickly detect a scam attempt. The vast majority of our calls to individuals will be made via our application. So, if you receive an unexpected call regarding your personal account from someone claiming to be from Revolut, hang up and verify their identity directly through the app.
He adds: “By speaking to someone through our app, customers can be 100% sure they are trading with Revolut and not a fraudster. »
