Android 16 will be released in the second quarter and currently, this new version of the OS is already in BETA test. However, for the moment, we only know a small part of the main novelties of Android 16. Indeed, Google is concentrated, for the moment, on the changes that affect the application developers. And the more visible new features for users will probably be presented later, perhaps during the Google I/O conference in May.
However, we already know that, among the new features of Android 16, there could be a new feature which, if it is not spectacular, could greatly improve the protection of users against scams. By searching in the Beta 2 version of Android 16, our colleagues from Android Authority discovered that, on it, Android blocks access to certain sensitive parameters during telephone calls.

Why is it important?
There is a type of scam which consists of calling the user, to ask him to install a malware during the call. Google therefore wants to protect Android users from this type of scam, blocking the features that would make it possible to install these malware during the call.
“Fraudsters often require this type of action during telephone conversations. They are therefore blocked to protect you. If someone you don’t know guides you in this process, it can be a scam ”would we also read on the alert displayed by Google, according to a demonstration published by Android Authority.
Traditionally, new Android version arrives in the second half. However, this year, things will be different. Indeed, in order to make Android 16 available to a larger number of users, Google has decided to modify its agenda, to align with that of smartphones manufacturers. And therefore, Android 16 will be released from this second trimester.
