It is today, Monday January 20, that many users of the X network will put their plan into action.#IQuitX“. At the same time as Donald Trump (re)takes control of the White House, with Elon Musk at his side, associations, politicians, businesses and many anonymous people have decided to leave what was once called Twitter, and which the vice-president of the national assembly describes as “a propaganda tool in the service of a man and a reactionary ideology which aims to weaken the democratic regimes in place”.
Bluesky’s turn to play it like TikTok
Obviously, for many users, it is a question (not of permanently deleting their X account, you never know…) of pausing their certain Bluesky. And while the future of TikTok still seems a little uncertain, despite its recent reestablishment in the United States, the little butterfly network has decided to set up a function directly inspired by the Chinese network.
The Bluesky mobile application now has a trending videos section in the Explore tab. And as is the case with any other self-respecting short video application, the user is cordially invited to swipe up to see more videos. “You can pin the feed to view it on your home screen or add it to your feed list” says Bluesky.
Concretely, this new functionality allows you to view videos called “tendency” in full screen, in vertical format. Swipe up and we move on to the next video. The principle is far from being new, since it is undoubtedly this activity that you indulge in (especially) in the evening, on YouTube with Shorts, on Instagram with Reels or even on TikTok obviously.
With uncertainty around TikTok and other ByteDance apps, not to mention moves on the X network, Bluesky saw its user base cross the 28 million user mark over the weekend. It remains to be seen whether they will manage to find their place on this new network, or whether they will soon return to the dark side of the force.
Note in this regard that this same X network has just announced… a new tab dedicated to videos!

This new tab, which takes its place at the bottom of the screen, alongside Grok and notifications, is already available for all network users in the United States, and allows you to find the videos in the same place.tendency” currently in circulation on X. Definitely…
