Even though the second season of The Last of Us is preparing to tumble on our screens, a recent declaration by Neil Druckmann, the “dad”From the saga, turned the heads of many fans recently. Indeed, as part of an interview with Variety, concerning a new game of the saga, the latter said: “The only thing I would say is that we should not bet on a sequel to The Last of Us. It may be the case“.
Finally, no The Last of Us Part 3?
A shock for many fans, many of whom are waiting for a third episode for this saga born on PS3 in 2013, just a few months before the launch of the PlayStation 4. Quickly, Naughty Dog will also take care of adapting the title on the new Sony console, without forgetting a second opus, launched in 2020 … a few months from the marketing of the PS5 this time.

Since then, the two games The Last of Us have been the subject of a recasting on PS5, with a full remake for the first opus, and a remaster for part 2. And while some fans could expect the announcement of a third episode in the coming weeks, just to coincide with the broadcast of the series, reality seems quite different … A blow for fans, not to mention the fact that Sony comes just Dualsense collector’s controller, revisited in the sauce The Last of Us (and which will be available on April 14).
However, in February 2024, declarations of this same Neil Druckmann seemed to indicate that the latter had found a concept for the third opus of the saga, after several years of reflection. So certainly, nothing indicates that The Last of Us leaves the player will never see the player, but that should not happen for a few years. Unless Naughty Dog is waiting for the imminent launch of the PlayStation 6 this time to launch The Last of Us Part 3 on PS5, who knows…
Recall also that the Naughty Dog studio is currently working on Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, a brand new license expected on PS5, but which does not benefit from any outing window. For the record, in addition to The Last of Us, the Naughty Dog studio also worked on the Uncharted series, as well as on the excellent Jak & Daxter, which made the heyday of the PS2, without forgetting obviously the unforgettable trilogie Crash Bandicoot, this time on the very first generation of Playstation.
