It is a real puff of oxygen for the most modest homes. Each year, the energy check is very timely to help many households to pay their bills. While the payment of help is looming for a few weeks, here is everything you need to know about it.
When will the energy check?
As of next April, the first payments will be made. We advise you to check your bank accounts regularly, but do not get too much impatient. Indeed the sum can be paid until May depending on your place of residence, so that it will be necessary to arm with patience.
Who is eligible for the energy check?
According to the website of the Ministry of the Economy, this compensation is paid under resource conditions. It is the tax administration which establishes the list of beneficiaries each year according to the reference tax income (RFR) of the household and the composition of the home determined in the consumption unit (UC). It is sent to 20 % of the most modest French households.
For example, for the year 2024, households including the reference tax income (RFR) 2022 per unit of consumption (UC) is less than 11,000 euros are eligible. To check if you are one of them, just go on the site dedicated to this system.
How much will you touch?
This is the question that all beneficiaries legitimately ask themselves. If we refer to the year 2024, the amount of checks was between 48 and 277 euros depending on the composition of households and their income. That said, we still do not know the sums that will be paid this year. The indemnity released by the State is 180 million euros in all.
Engie has just planned a little boost for its customers who would be affected by a potential decline: “This aid concerns nearly 700,000 customers who have transmitted an energy check to pay their electricity and/or natural gas bill for the 2024 campaign with an active contract on November 30, 2024”specifies the company.
How to receive the energy check?
The ministry explains that, if you were eligible last year, you have no approach to do. The sending of the energy check by mail is automatic to the address indicated to the tax administration. This aid can then be activated until March 31 of the year following its program.
